& books about disco frogs

“Aviator, bull-fighter, renowned property investor and railway tycoon” are several things which I’ve never been described as. My name is Iain Kelly and I am a writer, producer, publisher journalist, car enthusiast, father and author.

This is my little corner of the Internet where I unleash ridiculous flights of fancy from my car-addled brain. For as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by cars, the people around them, and the culture which they foster, and I’ve made it a career over the last quarter-century. You may have read my writing in the pages of STREET MACHINE magazine, or seen me on MIGHTY CAR MODS or BENNY’S CUSTOM WORKS YouTube channels - I do get around a bit.

You can find out more about my madcap world by clicking the About Me link at the top of the page. Or, you can help support my crippling addiction to overpowered American land yachts and 1980s BMWs by buying one of the books at the shop (either below this waffle, or from the menu at the top of the page).

Cheers,

Marv

Marv's Garage: 100 amazing automotive stories
$34.95

PRE-ORDER: this book has 100 epic, TRUE, stories of amazing cars, people, races, and general shenanigans from the weird world of cars. While I have a habit of banging on endlessly when I tell these stories in person, I’ve kept them short here, and they’re only 500-words, or 2 pages, to keep things fast-paced and easy to read.

Want to hear about the only monkey to win a NASCAR race? Or how Porsche was beaten at Le Mans by a French guy driving his own car? Did you know about the Japanese tuner busted at 197mph on an English motorway? Or the time El Maestro beat The Green Hell in the greatest Formula One drive of all time? Well, buy the book and you can learn all about these and 95 other epic yarns. We’ve got 277mph street cars; racers who never existed; some of the best cheating you’ll ever hear of; capsule cars; off-road muscle cars; the time Rolls-Royce got schooled in how to make a luxury car; and so much more.

These are some of my favourite stories from my life-long passion for cars, including spending the last 25 of those years working as a professional motoring writer, producer, and car-builder.

Everything You Need To Know About Fighting Disco Frogs From Outer Space
$49.95

I’ve spent 25-years writing about cars but it was the news I was going to be a father which spurred this passion project into life. What began as a series of short pieces of life advice I wished I’d had in my early adulthood, and was intended solely for my son, spun out of control.

There are now more than 50 chapters in this book, covering everything from understanding tax, to building a brick wall, from entering a room to buying a present, this is the Life Workshop Manual for young people entering the big, scary world.
